Our Training Program Details

Pride & Prejudoodles hand-picks puppies who meet our high health, coat, and temperament standards to enroll in our training program. These puppies graduate around 5 months of age, ready to join their future families!

When it’s time for the puppy to join your family we will personally deliver them to any home in the 48 contiguous states.

After leaving their mom at 8 weeks, each little doggie will live a minimum of THREE FULL MONTHS in the private puppy home of a Certified Dog Trainer developing a foundation of good habits from the beginning.

Our dog training classes are ideal for:

  • Families with work schedules that make potty training/all-day supervision in the beginning difficult
  • Busy mothers (with potty training or teething children already)
  • Families with health concerns or special needs, who may be unable to keep up with the demands of a young puppy

Training method particulars include:

  • Crated 8-9 hours at night without accidents.
  • Able to hold between potty breaks for 3 hours during the day
  • Rarely chews something inappropriate while someone is present
  • Understands and responds to the ‘leave it’ command’
  • Nipping and jump-trained
  • Does not bite hands and will rarely jump up on people
  • ‘Sit’- (from 15 feet away for 30 seconds)
  • ‘Down’ – (from 15 feet away for 30 seconds)
  • ‘Ok’ – as permission to stop sitting/staying
  • ‘Come’- voice command from a distance of 30 feet
  • ‘Off’ – to respond immediately if jumping up ever occurs
  • ‘Place’– go to a designated open bed or mat and stay there for 30 seconds
  • Stair Trained– to be able to go up and down stairs at a reasonable pace
  • Used to visiting other people’s homes, pet-friendly stores, and dog parks/walks
  • Accustomed to individuals and children of various ages
  • Accustomed to being handled by a veterinarian and health professionals
  • Accustomed to being handled by a groomer
  • Familiar with television noise, sounds of household appliances, music, sounds of traffic, and blow dryers.
  • Professional pictures will be taken by Pride & Prejudoodles’ photographer, you will receive a lengthy monthly email update on your dog’s progress, as well as a short video demonstrating what commands can be shown.
  • Before going home, the trainer will email specific tips/routines individualized to your puppy to help your dog’s transition.
  • Your dog will be hand delivered by a trainer who will personally coach you through the dog’s obedience training.
  • Leash Training to Loose-Leash Walking – to walk on the left side and rarely pull.
  • Know how to auto-sit each time the walker stops.
  • Car Traveling – take a ride without having any potty accidents for 4 hours
  • Your dog is genetically tested to be free of over 160 of the most common canine diseases
  • Worming will be done monthly
  • Vaccinations will be kept up to date
  • Baths, nail trimmings, ear cleanings are done weekly
  • NuVet Health Supplements will be given daily

We will help walk you through the transition period during the first few days that your puppy is home with you. The puppy is in a totally new location, with totally new smells and people. The puppy will often need a few days to adjust if it is going to settle well in your home. We are here for you.

Pricing Info:

  • $21,800 for puppies trained for 5 months (Price includes puppy + training). Miniature puppies in the 5 month program (30 lbs or less at adulthood) are an extra $500
  • $16,800 for medium or standard puppies trained for 3 months (Price includes puppy + training). Miniature puppies in the 3 month program (30 lbs or less at adulthood) are an extra $500
  • *For puppies without training, check with our partner breeders for their pricing*
  • We ask for a $4,000 non-refundable deposit to reserve puppies enrolled in our Puppy Training Program.
  • Deposits count toward the final cost of your puppy.

*A 5.3% Virginia sales tax will be added to all puppies delivered within or picked up from a Virginia address. Puppies that are delivered out of state are not subject to VA sales tax.

The goal is to help you skip the most trying dog behavior stages (beginning teething and potty training) and have a puppy with good behavior upon its integration into your home.
